What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Visiting the 1849 gold rush towns around northern California. The history, the resilience of the people (women!) were hard not to bring into the light.
And give a few happy endings.

How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Honorable Dr. Morgan Hastings was a survivor of the war against Mexico. Like many in history, he followed the western claims of gold in every stream. Emery was also brought to America as her father came to make a living for his family.
