What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
My inspiration for Federico Exaggerated are the desert quails who live in my native Land of Enchantment. I became acquainted with them during my many walks along the arroyos.

How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
It was complete happenstance, that I came upon a convention of quail during one of my walks along the arroyo. I call it a convention, because I had never seen such a large group out in the open. Maybe it was a reunion. I am guessing there must have been at least two coveys if not three. They did not seem to notice me, but I noticed there was one large male perched on a high rock. He was calling to the group trying mightily to get their attention, but the other quails were busy calling to each other and paid him no mind. It amused me and made me wonder what was going on. My imagination went to work, and Federico came to be.
