About Featured Book: Daddy’s Law by K.C. Crowne

20 years age gap.
HOT single daddy.
And my very bossy bodyguard.
It’s wrong. It’s taboo. It’s scandalous.
But forbidden fantasies are the best fantasies… right?

I’ve always been a good girl.
Played by all the rules.
But now my inner bad girl wants out.

Theo is dark. Enigmatic. Incurably broken…
And incurably fine.
He’s also one h*ll of a devoted father.

Should I be more worried about the dangerous men after me?
Or the inappropriate feelings I have for the man twice my age??

Theo

Ava’s infuriating.
Uncooperative.
And makes me want to put her over my knee and teach her a lesson.
The beauty arouses parts of me I’ve had locked away for years.

But who the h*ll am I kidding? I’m twice her age.
And her rich politician father hired me to protect her.
Not to make me her new ‘Daddy’.

She’s mine to protect.
And I’ll take great pleasure bringing down the sick criminals after her.

But after that, I’ll have to go far far away.
Because it’s getting harder and harder to control myself around the innocent beauty.

Conflicted by Abbie St. Claire

Conflicted by Abbie St. Claire

Chance made them neighbors. Chemistry made them lovers. Will fate make them a family?

Widower and orthopedic surgeon, Ian Briggs has room in his life for two things, his practice and his son, Oliver. A forced relocation shakes up more than his sense of direction when he finds himself captivated and lusting for his new neighbor.

Chelsie Peterson is piecing together the shattered fragments of her life. A divorce from her cheating and emotionally abusive husband leaves her a single mother and doubting her value as a woman.

Fiery impulses entice Ian and Chelsie to surrender to a passionate and inconvenient romance. Is there more than the desire to escape the frenzy of life that binds them?

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
After being married to a man who put me down sexually, the time came ten years after my divorce when I met a man who inspired me sexually. That's when I realized that women often don't see themselves in the same light as their lover.

In Conflicted, Ian's character has his flaws, but I gave him the ability to show Chelsea that she was so much more. I won't give away the secrets, but there's definitely a hot scene that goes with and the overall the series, she comes full circle.

How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The characters had to evolve for me which ended up creating a trilogy rather than a stand alone novel. As I built their arcs, there was just too much story to tell. My work in orthopedic medicine gave me insight to some of Ian's traits, but Chelsie was a creation of wounds and happiness from my own personal journey to love.

Sin Eater by Amanda Denham

“Two years ago, Jayde Holloway discovered that she had the power to erase memories in the worst way possible: by accidentally wiping her best friend Jenny’s at the end of their senior year. Now, shut off from the world, Jayde exists solely for her role as the Sin Eater, an entity who can take away a person’s every bad memory if they so wish… for a price. Jayde hates the lonely life that she’s dealt, especially under her strict boss Jak, who consistently keeps her under his watchful eye through blackmail: a constant reminder of all of her mistakes. When she must travel back to her hometown, Jayde secretly befriends two siblings with a haunted past of their own. As her own painful memories begin to overwhelm, Jayde must make a choice: remain chained to a familiar but hurtful past, or reveal all of her darkest secrets for what could be a better future.”

Sin Eater has one of the most compelling lead characters I’ve read this year. The idea behind the story felt original, with some insightful moments and vivid imagery.
Sin Eater was superbly original, with a well-articulated tone that I relished, and a thick atmosphere that one will only find in top shelf fantasy.”

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
The idea of this book actually came to me during a really hard time in my life. I had so many memories that I wished I could forget, because I felt that if they were gone, I'd be able to move on and be happy. That made me wonder: if someone had the power to erase your memories, would people actually do it? I like to draw, and I'd been drawing a character for a long time that wore goggles and crazy outfits. When that idea came to mind and I wanted to write a book about it, I knew she should be my main character.

How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
My main character, Jayde, was someone random I drew years ago, and somehow I got stuck on her. I'd draw her all the time, usually with mixed media and newspaper clippings. The cover of Sin Eater is actually one of my first drawings of her. When it came time to write a book, she was the one I wanted to write about. I think she's the most like me. I based her on how I was feeling over the years about the changes in my life, the guilt I've felt before, and overall some identity crises I've had.

As for the others, I think they're a mix of people I've met and been close with. Many friends who have read the book have asked if this or that character is based on certain people in my life. It was almost without thinking, since I didn't realize until it was pointed out to me. It makes sense though, since the town in the book is based on where I live and where I spent most of my teenage years.

"I take what is most precious to people: their memory. It's so simple. Give me your woes, and I can make you forget them. I could make you forget everything, if I really wanted to. I cure wounded people and give them a second chance.
However, their second chance means parts of their lives are completely missing, gone forever. They will never know that self again, nor will they remember those who were lost. They can continue on with their life in ignorant bliss, but I will always know. I will carry it for them within my own memory. Their troubles will stay with me for the rest of my life.
Yes, I will erase, I will cover, I will bury.
But I will always remember. I save and I hurt, all at once."
