Timothy James Brown has sadly worked in publishing most of his adult life. He dabbled in comedy between personal disasters before finally being allowed into print with The Brief History of Underpants in 2008, the worst year to launch an exciting new venture since 1939. About the Author
J.L. Eck was born in Utah in 1971 and she has always been an artist at heart. She used to write short stories for her friends in school and she told everyone that she was going to be a writer when she grew up. She loved drawing with pencil and taking pictures of the world around her too. Her first major in college was art but then her practical side kicked in and she ended up following in her father’s footsteps and became an accountant. She got a B.A. in accounting and then an MBA and she also got her CPA license. She took her accounting career all the way to Controller level where she managed entire accounting departments.

The writing bug never left her though and over the years she jotted down all her story ideas thinking to herself that someday she would get to them. She moved to Hawaii in 2006 after a divorce and she experienced a radical transformation. Hawaii is truly a magical place. The islands changed her and inspired her. She learned about Buddhism, started meditating and rock climbing. No longer afraid of what might happen if she followed her dreams of writing, she finally decided to take one of her ideas and run with it. It took several years but the end result is truly inspired and a magical tale about the myth surrounding the Hawaiian Naupaka flower, a little white flower that only grows with half its petals.
