This book of poetry documents my spiritual and emotional journey from big city, big job to big heart and big sky. In 2014 & 2015 I traveled around Australia with my husband and two kids. We packed up the house, put everything in storage and hit the road. We camped in a tent, lived simply, traveled 27,000km and stayed at 97 camp sites. I went swimming all day, looked at the stars, saw wonderful sights, ate delicious food and watched glorious sunsets. It sounds like a holiday. In fact, it’s the most challenging thing I have ever done.
There are poems about life, poems about love and poems about nature, places and people. This is my journey and I invite you to come along for the ride.

About the Author
I grew up in the bush and have never truly left. After 15 years in the bush and then 15 years in the big city, I packed up the car, the kids and the hubby and took off on a 12 month trip around Australia. We traveled 27,000km and stayed in 97 places.
I love writing, drawing in pencil and pastels, reading anything, playing with fire, watching birds and taking photos. I may or may not have a social media addiction. Swimming naked, eating chocolate and sleeping are also favourite activities. When I have a house I like gardening.
I am also partial to Aussie rock n roll and have made my pilgrimage to Bon Scott’s memorial in Fremantle. I am currently having an affair with New York City (thanks again Cathy!). Trees and waterfalls are my favourite things.
In my spare time I manage the website ‘Aussie Top Fives’ – the best of Australia in bite sized pieces. Australia is an amazing place and there’s heaps to see – from top to bottom, east to west. If I can inspire people to travel Australia and experience the freedom I have felt on my latest journey, I will have achieved my aim in life!
Writing is my new found passion. My trip really gave me the space I needed to realise that! I strongly encourage you to find your passion and follow your heart. Even if you only live your passion for 30 minutes a week – it will nourish your soul.
