For years, Ziggy Breener, Burnt Cove’s eccentric Can Man, has lived a simple life, riding his bicycle along the town roads to collect returnables.

Life gets a lot more complicated when Ziggy inherits a piece of prime waterfront land from the equally eccentric Myra Huggard.

Moving to a new neighborhood brings new friends as well as new enemies. Sadly, his friends turn out to be more dangerous than his enemies, especially when he’s presented with an elephant who moves into his backyard.

Things go from bad to worse when his new guest apparently kills somebody, and the elephantine suspect turns out to have a checkered past. Desperate, Ziggy persuades his friends, amateur sleuths Sarah Cassidy and Oliver Wendell to help prove the elephant’s innocence.

But if the pesky pachyderm isn’t the killer, then who is? Did the murder have something to do with a long-forgotten legend about buried treasure hidden on Myra Huggards’ land? Were Ziggy’s angry neighbors behind the death? Was there some darker motive?

These questions and more lead Sarah back to her tangled childhood relationship with the Huggards. Once again she finds herself having to confront painful memories from her past in order to solve an old mystery and find a modern-day killer.

About the Author
Lawrence Rotch was born and raised in the greater Boston area. His youthful summers were spent sailing on Buzzards Bay, where he lived in a house next door to the local boatyard—a place rich with the aromas of cedar and paint. After graduating from college, he worked for a number of years as an engineer in the aerospace industry and in computer hardware and software development before moving to Maine. Today, he lives with his wife, and the occasional dog, on a hilltop in the midcoast area, where he writes, builds boats, and tinkers with electronics.
He is presently finishing a sixth book in the Midcoast Maine Mystery series.

Sally Huss has been a tennis player, artist and writer all of her life. She is a graduate of USC with a degree in Fine Art. At the same time Sally was developing her artistic skills, she was developing her tennis skills, becoming a Wimbledon and US National Junior Tennis Champion, a Wimbledon semi-finalist in the Women’s Division in both singles and doubles. Later, Sally became one of the world’s top senior players.

Presently Sally plays tennis socially and writes and illustrates her best-selling children’s books.

About the Author
Craig left fulltime education aged eighteen and began a career in retail. At the age of 28 he found his true vocation after buying into a small printing business. After 13 years of blood, sweat, and holding back the tears, he sold up to pursue his dream.
In May 2002 Craig, his wife Melanie, and their pet dog Jazz, squeezed all their worldly goods into their aging executive saloon and headed off to Spain. Not for them the tourist packed Costas of the Mediterranean coast or the hills of Andalusia, no, they headed for Galicia – a remote and little known region in the northwest corner of Spain.
Craig began writing a weekly column for an online magazine in 2004. Over the last few years he has written a number of articles for the Trinity Mirror Group and online publications such as CNN, My Destination, and Insiders Abroad.
In 2013 Craig published his first travel memoir, Journey to a Dream. It tells the story of a turbulent first 12 months in Galicia.
His latest book, Beyond Imagination, reveals their continuing adventures as they settle in to their new home and surroundings.
As well as writing, Craig and his wife Melanie own a traditional Galician farmhouse which they rent to tourists from around the world. He’s also an enthusiastic wine maker and currently works two small vineyards.
