Karen says:I'm the quiet one here at BookGoodies. If you've listened to
our podcasts, you've likely heard my voice but you may not have
noticed my comings and goings before.
I schedule all of your lovely posts, free books and author
interviews across all of our sites. Right now, I'm working
several weeks out from today's date and I thought I'd take
a moment to address the three oversites I see most frequently on
submissions.
The Big Three:
* Misspelled Book Title or Author Name - you would be shocked,
absolutely shocked how many times in a week I make these
corrections. Be sure that you double check your submissions to any
site, especially if you are working off a cut and paste document.
Your name and book title are really important!
* Broken/Missing/Incorrect Links - We want to send people to buy
your books! Whether you're submitting a link to Amazon,
Smashwords, or even your own site, check the link. Search urls will
not work (they have a very short lifespan) and we remove all
shortlinks like tinyurl and bit.ly. Amazon links should look
something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Its-All-About-Cookies/dp/1463672586
(I'm partial to this one...I have a recipe in it!)
* Missing Book Cover - Like it or not, a book is judged by its
cover! I probably see 5 or 6 books posted every day that did NOT
include their book cover image even though they do have the cover
posted on Amazon. Submitting a cover not only snags a reader's
attention...it also gets you an additional link to your book in a
post.
Now, these errors and oversights won't get your post deleted,
I'm not that mean. :) But sometimes they will make it delayed
though, especially if I have to track something down.
I love reading all the submissions, so keep em coming and if you
