Checking in from Deb at BookGoodies

First and foremost, thank you for being a part of our awesome community. We wouldn’t be where we are today without you.

I hope this email finds you well, and your family is healthy. Just so you know there is no selling in this email. I am more concerned about your well being.

Are you tired of all the emails about the Corona virus? I know I am! It seems like everyone and their mother wants us to know how bad it is or going to be. We are in Queens New York and they just reported 4,667  confirmed positive cases for the virus. We have our doors locked, lysol on our desks and are hunkering down. I know 10 people that have tested positive and finding out about more each day.

I want to give you some happy thoughts and useful resources that can help both you and your family. I realize most of you are trying to stay home as much as possible. Sometimes we need to take a break from the news.

Check out this version of Sweet Caroline Neil Diamond - it will make you smile and he will have you washing your hands. It is a nice escape.

If your kids are bouncing off the walls and stuck inside I have some good news. Amazon just introduced some kids movies for free on their streaming platform.  You can see them here

Audible is allowing kids to stream some audiobooks for free. This is a good way to keep your kids entertained. You can find the audiobooks here

I will keep you updated with more free services as I find them. Of course you can always go to our sites and put free or permafree into the search box and find free books. 🙂

The BookGoodies team will be working normal business hours and since our service is digital they are set up to work remotely as usual. We are working to get posts about books in front of people that are finding they have free time on their hands and that are looking for a distraction from the news. I know reading is relaxing and comforting to me, as it is to others.

Be well, and once again if there is anything I can do feel free to reach out to me by replying to this email. Take a few minutes and add your book(s) to our sites. We have many options at no charge. People are looking for books to read and activities to do.

I said I wasn't selling anything in this email but I want to put one thing out there that may help you. In addition to the posts we don't charge for we have a form that will get your posts on all our network's appropriate sites for your books - fill out one form, pay one fee. Until this is over I am offering that to our authors for 75% off the normal cost. I was told I should limit it to only a certain number of people but I want to make it so you can all take advantage if you are able to. Go to this form and use the coupon code STAYHOME  (because I want to remind our authors worldwide to be safe and stay home). We won't be applying for any government aid to get through this. We got through Hurricane Sandy, we can get through this. This service is a time saver if you don't want to take the time to fill out the forms on every single site and you can pick the date to be featured.

Debbie
