The Election in the US, Black Friday and Corrections on Your Posts

It is an exciting week in the United States and I know many of our international authors are watching as well. Black Friday - Should you advertise your eBook?
In a word - no. Black Friday is NOT a eBook shopping day. We know this from running promotions several years in a row. When should you run an ad? The second week in December is the heaviest online shopping day, even though the media will tell you otherwise. We are not offering Black Friday specific promotions this year for one reason - we don't want you to waste your advertising dollars on that day. Our ads are for a minimum of a week, so book one in mid December or the week AFTER Christmas. By then most of the holiday giving is over and people will be spending their Amazon Gift Cards they got as gifts.
Any site that is promising you big sales on Black Friday either hasn't done the research or is just wanting to grab our dollars thinking you want to advertise then. Of course it is always your choice to advertise when ever you want to, however we are advising against it and recommend you schedule your ads and promotions for mid to late December to get more bang for your buck.
Reminder:
If you are planning a special price promotion PLEASE schedule it with Amazon or other booksellers *before* you schedule your ad. We are getting lots of requests for date changes and we are not always going to be able to accommodate them during the busy holiday season. Thank you for being responsible and making sure all your ducks are in a row BEFORE you hit *submit*.
Have you checked your book listsings on BookGoodies recently?
We know a lot of authors change covers and even republish books under new ASINs. Please go to BookGoodies.com and in the search box type your name (if you have books listed on our site of course) and check to see if your book link works and your cover is correct. If it needs an update here is what to do:
1. Book cover needs to be updated: Leave a COMMENT on each book POST that needs to have a new cover. Simply comment "This book has a new cover on Amazon." The comment will not be published, it will go to our admin team and we will go to Amazon and get the cover. DO NOT EMAIL US WITH UPDATES please.
2. Book link needs to be updated: do the same thing as in #1 with "This book as a new link - here it is" and give us the book link.
3. Major updates - if cover, link, description are all in need of changes then comment with "Remove this book post" and we will delete it. Then go submit a fresh Tell Us About Your Book (our free version) but be sure you already have an author interview as that is the only way to get your book posted at no charge.
