Today’s young women need our help. Self esteem for teens, self esteem for young women, basically self esteem for all women is at an all time low! Low self esteem leads to unhappiness, depression, isolation, higher suicide rates, and so many other life-altering effects.
Young women must learn to thrive, not just survive. How can we help them believe in themselves, embrace life, grow, learn, be happy, create and maintain healthy boundaries, and have a realistic perspective all while navigating life’s messiness and pain?
By having those difficult conversations. Help them learn to embrace themselves just as they are.
Things I’d Tell My Daughter shares life-changing secrets that have power to transform lives; change relationships; inspire dreams, goals and growth. Straight talk (no sugarcoating) from someone who has been-there-done-that. On all the topics that can be difficult for mothers to share with daughters. Simple and straight to the point statements with prompts to inspire reflection.
Buy a copy of Things I’d Tell My Daughter for every young woman you know and love! And please do not be afraid to have those difficult conversations.
Targeted Age Group:: 18-28
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
My inspiration came from the conversations I wish my mom had been able to have with me. Knowing that if I had a daughter I would hope I could have them with her, no matter how real, how raw, how difficult.
Seeing how much young women struggle with self-esteem and self-worth, and also the increasing suicide rate, made me feel like I wanted to do something that might help even one of these beautiful young women feel a little better, a little more 'normal'. And remembering my own internal struggles growing up, knowing if someone had been able to tell me even a few of these things my life might've been a little easier.
