What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
The book explores the key question of why God allows bad things to happen to good people. The story is purely fictional but was inspired by events in the author's life or the lives of his close friends and family. Within & Without Time is, in essence, a story about the shocking contrast between human frailty and an infinitely powerful and sovereign God. A God who is motivated by a love that is as immense and immeasurable as His power.

How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The main character is an unlikely prophet, not unlike many examples in the Bible where God used children in remarkable ways. From Joseph’s early dreams to David’s courageous battle with Goliath and Jesus’ selection of a young man named John, likely not more than a teenager himself, to be one of his closest Disciples. It’s not much of a stretch to think that His most significant work still to come could be accomplished through some of the weakest among us. The angel who befriends him, named Chozeq, is derived from the Hebrew word qzx, or kho'-zek. The noun is a masculine form, meaning strength, power, or powerful. Inspiration for much of Chozeq’s advice came from the writings of Charles H. Spurgeon, especially from his Daily Devotional, Morning & Evening (public domain), initially published in 1865. An attempt was made to weave these powerful messages, which offer keen insights into God’s profound nature, into the storyline to show how truly relevant they remain today.
