What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I enjoyed venturing to the fictional world of Beach Town during my previous novels and given that the apocalypse is far from over, and that people are still trapped there it made sense to return.

For me, this entire town is the inspiration – although fictional which I cannot stress enough. It is full of interesting and now haunting locations as the dead ravage it. The main characters are merely remnants of a life left behind and I wanted to explore just how depraved and desperate they'd become.

How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Well, I took the characters from Beach Town: Hope and completely flipped it on its head. These are people who have managed to survive not out of skill but shear luck, they are based on people who seem to have it easy. This is why I make things so hard for them.

Some of their behavior's and actions are terrifyingly close to what people would do if it wasn't the apocalypse. So imagine that, desperate people who are forced to the edge, forced to fight. That is the inspiration for them.
