What lies beneath the mask? Within oneself lies an everlasting conflict—between who is true, and who hides behind the mask. If you ventured through the darkest corners of your mind, what would you find?
The Revenant sees through you, feeds on your fear and doubt. The source of your indecision, the root of your pain. It is all within, a horror one can only inflict upon themself. Yet, he is the very essence of your identity.
Christian Lowe’s Revenant exemplifies this internal conflict; the optimist versus the pessimist, the compliant versus the nonconformist. It questions the very principles that make us who we are, and whether or not we fall prey to society’s standards and expectations simply because our society rewards it and accepts it—regardless of whether it is right or wrong, and regardless of whether we stay true to ourselves.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I drew from many inspirations when writing this book, namely Edgar Allen Poe, and the Poe inspired album titled Phantoms by Marianas Trench. I wanted to write something a bit different thematically than what I had done in the past, and I think it worked out very well in this book.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
There are only two characters in this book. Self, and the Revenant. The book entails an internal conflict, you against your alter-ego per say, the voice in your head that tells you no.
Book Excerpt/Sample
Finally, a path into the darkness
Seeping through my spirit
Blinding my soul
Take me for granted! That's all I ask! I'd be what you'd say to be
Tyranny, to conquer the tyrant
Pain, to conquer the titan
Death, to keep them silent
Withering widows forge the sigil,
My fate, the price, weak and brittle
Forgive my fickle nature, For I do not beg, and I do not plead
I do not walk, nor do I bleed
For I do not thrist for sanctity
I do not ask for your loyalty
Instead I thrive, in liminality
I am everywhere you go,
Everything you've seen,
Everyone you know.
And while you remain vigil,
Ever arrogant, and superficial
I'll be your revenant, I am no symbol!
I am everything!
Raw and unclean,
And what are you?
Nothing but a cog in the machine.
Wake up! Wake up! This is not a dream.
