What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I used to work as an admin assistant and on Fridays during my lunch break I would eat alone in my car, listening to music, reading, and scrolling through YouTube. It was during this time that I came across a video discussing alien life on earth and it pushed me to ask the what if question. I started developing the story for The Worlds That Separated Us and later that day when I picked my husband up from his shift I told him about my idea. I went to bed that night and had a dream, Rosie and Ezra became vivid and their story connected with me, I knew then that Worlds That Separated Us would had to be written.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Rosie and Ezra came to me first and they both developed during drafting. I felt instantly connected to them and Rosie's personality is so intriguing to me, I love writing from her POV. Each character in The Worlds That Separated Us is unique, they all are very different from one another and I guess it's something I drew upon from my own life experience. My friend group are all different from one another yet somehow it works, like a family. These characters share that with one another and I'm a huge fan of the found family trope. I feel like I know the fragments of each character before I start drafting and by the end I've pieced them together and they feel whole to me.
