The story of the musician behind the mask who has lived his life hidden beneath the face of “Trevor.” Clive Balls was the perceived alter-ego, here, in his own words, he explains the true nature of his existence.

It charts his formative years in Germany that followed his parents’ surprise separation. Made all the more shocking when it was revealed his mother had ran off with another woman, who Clive would later know as Daddy Jo. His father worked the tough European wrestling circuit, giving the young Clive a taste for entertainment. They returned to England broke and without direction. His life became a series of seedy moments fuelled by the lad culture of years gone by.

Through chance meetings and circumstance we see the incarnations of the band that would become Esoteric Impulse Project. From humble beginnings in Europe further coincidences led to the rapid rise Japanese fame. The climax of which saw a bizarre bedroom liaison with a famous American singer.

After the peak of Japan came the fall into a mundane existence where “Trevor” once again suppressed Clive. It was only the arrival of Montgomery Cox that gave to a rebirth of persona and band.

Throughout the book Clive also gives his unique opinions and insights, many sure to offend, so read with caution.
