 Desire and Prejudice is about the healing power of true lovemaking and the damning power of ethnic bias.

Desire and Prejudice is much more than “boy meets girl, they fall in love”; it tells a realistic, believable story that readers haven’t heard before.
These characters, nor the twisted end of the story, are definitely not the stereotypical a reader can predict.

Mike Covell is a Hull-based local historian who specialises in the darker side of his home cities’ history.
Since 2006, Mike has researched, written about, blogged, tweeted, and lectured on all aspects of Hull’s history. He has lectured at the Hull History Centre, The Hull Heritage Centre, at the Ghost Club in London, and at the 2010 Jack the Ripper conference. He has assisted on and acted as historical advisor on several television shows, radio shows, podcasts, magazine articles, books, and other projects. He was the first Brit to appear on the Rippercast Podcasts and Ripper Radio and his Jack the Ripper blog has views from across the globe.
He has moderated on several Jack the Ripper websites, written for several Jack the Ripper magazines, and is currently contracted to advise on a number of media projects with Thunderball Films International, including television shows and movies. Mike currently owns Amazing Hull Tours, a Hull-based company that teaches lectures, provides tours and virtual tours, and acts as a company to help others learn about Hull’s history.
Mike and his research have appeared in Ripperologist, Casebook Examiner, Paranormal Magazine, Fortean Times, The Hull Daily Mail, The Hull Advertiser, The Yorkshire Post, The Cottingham Times, Hedon Gazette, and numerous blogs and websites.

Anita Weiner, Ph.D., is an American-born social scientist who has been a faculty member of the University of Haifa’s School of Social Work for thirty years. She became acquainted with the work of the JDC in the former Soviet Union during the 90’s. Based on her research of the JDC’s activities there from 1988 to 1998, her book, Renewal: Reconnecting Soviet Jewry to the Jewish People, was published in 2003.
