He initiates a contest between the two papers to see who can get Ann Turner first. In accordance, every deplorable tactic ever conceived is used to try and please the new kingmaker. About the Author
I started my martial arts journey long before I started structured training. My father used to train recreationally and had a collection of martial arts books which I recall reading as a child, as well as watching the ‘Real Bruce Lee’ documentary on repeat.

I remember trying on my dad’s belt while he was at work, and going through the movements which I saw illustrated in the books. It was a well worn belt, no doubt used by many before him as, as in those days belts were handed down from student to student.

Among my father’s book collection, there was this rather large encyclopaedic textbook written by the founder of Taekwondo, General Choi Hong Hi 9th Dan. This book had beautiful gold calligraphic writing on the front, and I have great memories of it. I still have it on my bookshelf, but it is nowhere near the condition it was all those years ago. This book contained a section on a martial artist’s role in being a positive, contributive member of society with a strong moral and ethical code of living. This resonated with me, and I realised that the martial arts were not just about fighting, but they could be used to create a better world. The less fortunate could only be protected and malevolent forces could only be defeated through exceptional physical and emotional strength.

My mission statement for my academy would be:- “To create a fully independent, tranquil, harmonious place of learning with no politics or egos. Progress is by merit only, and our goal is to teach you how to be a creator of your destiny and master of your own life”.

Martial arts helped me gain confidence and power, acting as a catalyst to make some amazing changes in my life. I want to pass this opportunity onto others.
