However here are some FACTS that the medical profession and big pharmaceutical companies don’t want you to know:
• Long term use of simple “over-the-counter” painkillers can be FATAL.
• In the UK alone, prescription painkillers taken at the recommended dose account for over 2,500 deaths each year.
• Painkillers are among the most ADDICTIVE drugs known to man.
• Painkillers cause serious side effects and can have hazardous interactions with other life-saving medicines.

If you are unfortunate enough to suffer from a medical condition which causes you pain and you regularly take painkillers to treat it, then what you have just read above might well cause you to feel a bit alarmed. And well it should! Those very tablets, capsules or liquids that you take to relieve your aches and pains are probably doing you more harm than good.

About the Author
David Lightbody is a practicing Community Pharmacist from Northern Ireland. He got his degree in pharmacy from Queens University in Belfast and he has been a fully qualified pharmacist since 1995. He worked in a number of pharmacies as a local pharmacist before becoming manager of a fairly large pharmacy in a shopping centre.

His pharmacy has continued to grow and is currently one of the biggest and busiest pharmacies in Northern Ireland.

His main reason for working in the healthcare field is because he enjoys helping people to find solutions to their health problems. He regularly runs workshops in his community on a range of health topics and his new passion is writing about them.

A very confident cat, called The Cat with a Bat, wanders into a baseball stadium. No one knows what to make of him, but he knows who he is, “I’m The Cat with a Bat and a Hat and a Mat and I play baseball wherever I am at.”

That explanation starts a series of confusions over the word “At” at the end of a sentence. Fortunately, The Cat with a Bat, demonstrates his baseball prowess by knocking the ball out of the park, proving that stick-to-itiveness counts. Lots of fun and a rhyming delight with a little grammar lesson included.

About the Author
Lisa has lived in scenic Massachusetts since 1986, with only two brief forays out of state. One of Lisa’s ancestors was Ann Foster, who died during the Salem Witch Trials. Ann Foster was a grandmother by that time and sacrificed herself to protect her daughter and granddaughter. Ann had been born in England, came over in 1635, and was 75 by the time of the trials. Salem reached its dark depths during those trials from 1692-1693 – but since then has healed, blossomed, and shines. It now features the amazing Peabody Essex Museum, a plethora of gorgeous historic architecture, and a beautiful coastline. It’s well worth a visit.
